Update from the corner of my desk

I’ve learned that you can’t have everything and do everything at the same time.

Dear Readers:

You may be wondering why over the last three weeks my reviews have dropped in frequency. I am currently involved in a major Government of Canada service and benefits delivery project that is keeping me busy day and night. We are set to launch a 10+ year service strategy, modernizing how two major government departments will serve their clients. This, of course, involves multiple stakeholders and partners, not to mention more than 33 solutions to 22 problematic areas that will be implemented incrementally over the next 10 years with more than 22,000 employees involved across the two departments. It’s no small feat! And so, I have been working multiple hours during the day and night, which means I’ve had less time to dedicate to watching and reviewing dramas. This is not a long-term problem, just an interim hiccup which once we launch the strategy we’ve spent weeks working on, my out-of-office time will be restored.

In the meantime, I am currently trying to complete four reviews I already started, The Slavehunters (Chuno), Red Cliff I and II, A Thousand Days’ Promise, and Empress Ki. All four are in progress but I decided to hold off on watching anything new until I had completed the writing of these pieces. They should all be completed in the next week or two and then things should return to normal. All four reviews are handwritten for the most part and just need to be typed up. But this takes time. I blame myself for the process but it’s one I enjoy so the blame is not too harsh.

Thank you for your understanding!
